Later history of base camp

Much of the original 640-acre base was sold off for development as the city grew. The main surviving portion of the base, organized around the parade ground, is located at the northwestern corner of that land. Portions of the former base are now used as the Blank Park Zoo, and part of the parade ground has had an apartment complex built on it. Despite this, a number of the fort's buildings still stand, mainly on the southern and eastern edges of the parade ground. These buildings, including barracks, quarters, and stables, are now used for a variety of civic and commercial purposes. These surviving elements of the fort were designated a National Historic Landmark in 1974, in recognition of their role in the advancement of African Americans and women in the United States military forces.

The Fort Des Moines Museum and Education Center honors the U.S. Army's first officer candidate class for African American men in 1917, and the establishment of the first Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC's) in 1942.

History and Details of donga

The NKIDP has obtained and published documents on the history of North Korea from archives in the former Soviet Union, China, (East) Germany, Romania, Albania, Mongolia, Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, the United States, and South Korea.

NKIDP believes that the efforts of contemporary scholars and policymakers are too often hampered by a distinct lack of knowledge about the North Korean leadership and political system. With no history of diplomatic relations with Pyongyang and severely limited access to the countrys elite, it is difficult for Western policymakers, journalists, and academics to understand the forces and intentions behind North Korea's enigmatic actions.

In cooperation with the University of North Korean Studies (Seoul) and an international network of researchers, the NKIDP provides access to both original and translated archival documents on the DPRK, publishes an NKIDP Working Paper series, regularly contributes to the Cold War International History Project (CWIHP) Bulletin series, and holds frequent conferences and workshops at the Wilson Center as well as throughout East Asia.

The NKIDP is supported by the Korea Foundation and other donors.

Early history of punjab history

The regiment was raised during the upheaval of the Indian Mutiny, at Ferozepur on 1 July 1857, as the Ferozepore Punjab Battalion. In 1862, the regiment took part in operations in Assam, while during the Second Afghan War of 1878-80, it fought at Peiwar Kotal, Charasiah and Kabul. In 1891, it participated in the Black Mountain Expedition on the North West Frontier of India.

Subsequent to the reforms brought about in the Indian Army by Lord Kitchener in 1903, the regiment's designation was changed to 28th Punjabis.

During the First World War, they were stationed in Ceylon on garrison duty and was called out to suppress the riots in 1915 which they did brutally. Many atrocities were committed by the Punjabis during Martial Law that prevailed in the country. Following the incidents of the riots, 28th Punjabis was transferred to Mesopotamia, where they fought in the bloody battles on the Tigris Front, as the British made desperate efforts to relieve their besieged garrison at Kut al Amara. In 1917, the regiment took part in the Third Battle of Sannaiyat, the Capture of Baghdad, and the actions at Istabulat and Tekrit. In 1918, the 28th Punjabis participated in the British campaign in Palestine. During the war, the regiment suffered a total of 1423 casualties. It raised a second battalion in 1918, which was disbanded after the war. In 1921, Sepoy Ishar Singh of the 28th Punjabis was awarded the Victoria Cross for exceptional valour during the Waziristan Campaign.

Performance history of home invasion

The opera was first performed at Glyndebourne in England on 12 July 1946. It is the first work to which Britten applied his term "chamber opera." The opera debuted in the United States on Broadway at the Ziegfeld Theatre in a production staged by Agnes de Mille which opened on 29 December 1948 and closed on 15 January 1949 after 23 performances. The cast notably included Giorgio Tozzi as Tarquinius, Kitty Carlisle as Lucretia, Lidija Franklin as Bianca, Brenda Lewis as the Female Chorus, and Adelaide Bishop as Lucia.

In 1996 the opera was presented at the Opera Theatre of St. Louis directed by Britten expert and friend, Colin Graham. It also appeared in the Opera Company of Philadelphia's 2009 season. In 2013, the opera was performed for the first time by Glyndebourne since its premiere, directed by actress Fiona Shaw. This production opened on tour to great acclaim. Shaw's production premiered at Glyndebourne's festival in 2015 to similar acclaim.

History and architecture of constructed languages

The church was built during the 12th century and preceded by a wooden church built c. 1130 1140. The typically broad, Romanesque western tower, the nave, choir and apse all date from the construction period; the tower was built first and possibly as much as fifty years earlier than the rest of the church. The tower has been attributed to one of the master stonemasons working on the construction of Lund Cathedral, Carl stenmstaresv or possibly the master stonemason responsible for lading the construction at Frlv Church. The layout of its ground floor suggest that it may have served as a private chapel for a local lord.

The church has been rebuilt and expanded in stages. During the middle of the 13th century, the present vault of the choir was constructed. During the late Middle Ages, church porches were probably constructed both in front of the northern and the southern entrances to the church; only the one in front of the southern entrance is preserved. A northern transept was added in 1763, and a thorough restoration of the church carried out in 1832.

On the cemetery at some distance from the church itself stands another medieval building, probably originally a residential building, which for a long time served as a lychgate.

History and Origins of attire

When establishing the Honey Queen Program, the founder, Esther Piechowski, tapped into already established markets such as the American Association of Advertising Agencies and Teacher's Homemakers of America. In Redgranite, Wisconsin, she developed the Honey Queen Program on the state level, crowning the first Wisconsin Honey Queen in 1957. In 1959, the first American Honey Queen was chosen and given a banner, to identify her title, and a crown. Piechowski next expanded the program to the national level by highlighting its potential: its relatively low cost, the opportunities to raise awareness, and marketing opportunities. Her platform was accepted and developed into a committee. The program started at a grassroots level and has since evolved to include 21 states that have either a Honey Queen or Honey Princess, with a total of 27 states sending candidates to the North American Beekeeping Conference & Tradeshow to compete for those titles (see Participating States.) Over time, the number of states participating has fluctuated for myriad reasons. As the number of beekeepers and the strength of the organization within a given state decline, fewer Honey Queens came out of that particular state. Due to the professionalism embedded within each Honey Queen, there will always be a role for her as a spokesperson, and the program remains valuable.

Historically, a greater proportion of Southern states sent participants to the competition due to the established culture of Beauty Queens. The founders of the program thought that a young, attractive woman would be able to easily get interviews with radio and eventually television and easily engage with the general public. However, the emphasis of the criteria to select a Honey Queen has shifted in recent decades from physical appearance to communication and professionalism.

Migration history of mexican music

Hernan Cortes and his crew of soldiers and sailors used Cuba as a launching point for the conquest of the Aztec Empire. Cuba-born individuals began arriving during the colonial era and have continued into the post-independence era. Many arrived fleeing from the chaos caused by the Cuban War of Independence. Fidel Castro and his followers used Mexico as a launching point for the Cuban Revolution. The majority of modern Cuban migrants have been exiles or refugees fleeing from the Communist regime in Cuba. Both countries share the Spanish language; their historical origins are common (part of the Spanish Empire).

As of 2012, there were 14,637 Cuban-born individuals registered with the Mexican government as living in Mexico. However, the number is likely larger as not all Cubans in the country are legal residents.

The number of registered Cuban residents increased 560% between 2010 and 2016, from 4,033 to 22,604 individuals. During the same period, there was a 710% increase in the Cuban presence in Quintana Roo; a fourth of the population (5,569 individuals) live in that state.

Encyclopedia of Bahrain's History of Second Gulf War

In 2001, Kamaluddin sent a letter to the Prime Minister of Bahrain His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Salman suggesting a formation of a specialized team to write the history of Bahrain since 3000 B.C. until the modern Bahraini state. His Highness agreed on the suggestion, and the "Committee of Writing the Encyclopedia of Bahrain's History" was officially formed, headed by Mr. Kamaluddin. This encyclopedia is the first of its kind in Bahrain and the Gulf region, and includes 10 parts, each part containing 350-450 pages. In 2004, the project was completed, and the Encyclopedia was ready for publication. However, the publication of the encyclopedia was deliberately hindered, and the governmental authorities refused to publish it upon its completion, giving no reasonable justification to such refusal. However, after five years of unjustifiable delays by the government, Kamaluddin published in February 2010, at his own expense, the first four parts of the encyclopedia.

Bid for CongressQuinter had announced that he was laying the groundwork for a campaign for the nomination for Maryland's Third Congressional District in 2006. A seat being vacated by 10 term Congressman Ben Cardin who was running for U.S. Senate. His primary opponents would have been former Baltimore Health Commissioner Peter Beilenson, State Senator Paula Hollinger and John Sarbanes; however, Quinter withdrew from the race and tried to regain his seat in the House of Delegates. He was unseated by County Councilman Guy Guzzone, who had considered a race for County Executive, but chose to run for the House of Delegates, as that post would allow Mr. Guzzone to spend more time with his family. The race was fairly close, but Mr. Guzzone prevailed as he was well known in Howard county having been county council president.

Development History and Future Trend of Smart Home Wireless Protocol
Development History and Future Trend of Smart Home Wireless Protocol
According to a recent report by crimson hexagon, "from 2014 to 2017, smart home technology began to receive widespread attention, and more than 60% of consumers showed great interest in smart home technology." if you work in the Internet of things industry, you may be familiar with reports and data, Because this indicates the future market development opportunities of intelligent networked families. We all know that when consumers buy smart home products, they are often affected by many factors, such as entertainment, convenience, security, improving household energy efficiency and reducing energy expenditure. However, behind these, we all know that one of the biggest obstacles to the development of smart home is the interoperability of smart home devices and more and more wireless protocols.Wireless protocols such as Z-Wave and Wi Fi are important pillars of the Internet of things infrastructure; In some cases, these languages used between devices create fragmented or closed ecosystems, which often cause confusion and application obstacles to end users. With the increasing popularity of modern smart home, the number of corresponding protocols and functions is also increasing. Although engineers, developers and manufacturers all try to create products that they think have the best user experience and introduce new protocols and technologies, everyone wants to unify standards and connect and control all products. In order to better understand how we reach the current protocol state of smart home, let's look at a short history.Internet of things before Internet of thingsFirst, what is the function of wireless protocol in smart home?In short, a protocol is a language or function of how devices communicate and understand each other. Many people believe that the emergence of modern smart home protocol can be traced back to the creation of x10 (an international common smart home power carrier protocol) in the 1970s. It is the first general communication protocol for electronic devices. Soon after, various other protocols were developed, including Z-Wave, and UPB (universal power line bus), Wi Fi and insteon (a two-way hybrid communication technology with low complexity, low power consumption, low data transmission rate and low cost, with the characteristics of instant response, easy installation, easy use, economic reliability and compatibility with X10) to solve various problems in the consumer electronics and home control market.Released in 1999, UPB uses power line wiring for signal and control to provide a high level of reliability and transmission rate through existing wires in the home. This is a highly technical technology, which is difficult to adopt for DIY people who have little corresponding technical knowledge. In addition, Wi Fi was introduced in the early 1990s to transmit a large amount of data. Today, Wi Fi allows devices to connect in smart homes and allows users to enjoy remote control of home devices. However, Wi Fi does exist and faces challenges such as high interference and high power consumption, which is not ideal for battery powered products.Following Wi Fi, new generation protocols such as Z-Wave and insteon enhance network signals by providing efficient and low-power connections and using mesh networks, which are mainly designed for home control.Early technology of smart homeInsteon is designed by smartlabs Inc. to solve the connection between power line and wireless protocol. They were a unique solution at that time, but their closed ecosystem made it difficult for consumers to adopt. As an early mesh network technology, ZigBee was developed by HomeRF alliance. It is a wireless proprietary protocol with many different "profiles", which is mainly used in commercial, energy and remote control markets. Like ZigBee, Z-Wave is also a mesh network protocol, which was launched by the Danish company zensys in 2001 and is now owned by silicon labs.Z-Wave is specially built for smart home; Home control enthusiasts and developers know that in order to succeed, the standard must not only use low-power power power, but also not interfere with other home electronics, but also become stronger with the increase of equipment. As one of the original network technologies of home control, the tradition of Z-Wave continues today. Z-Wave is supported by the Z-Wave alliance, a member alliance of industry leaders committed to promoting standards. At the time of writing, Z-Wave has more than 2400 certified Z-Wave devices and more than 700 members.New member of smart home protocolIn the past few years, with the development of smart home technology, the demand for low-power mesh network as the technical pillar of smart home has prompted other standards organizations to constantly explore their own technology. We have seen that existing standards organizations such as thread (jointly launched by Samsung, nest, arm, big ass fans, Freescale and silicon labs, which is an IP based wireless network protocol used to connect smart products at home) and Bluetooth Technology Organization (SIG) and Wi Fi alliance have announced their own versions of Bluetooth mesh network and Wi Fi halow mesh network protocol.Thread was launched by Google and other large companies interested in smart home in 2014. Thread naturally supports IPv6 and aims to cooperate with Google and nest, but does not solve the problem of product level interoperability. Bluetooth grid was officially launched by sig in 2017. It has different functions compared with the known Bluetooth point-to-point communication. For the wi fihalow mesh network protocol, engineers from major chipset suppliers are worried about the power consumption of WiFi halow. They are worried that the protocol will consume too much energy for battery powered smart home devices. In addition, many newer protocols, such as Wi Fi halow, may take a long time to be adopted by manufacturers and create reasonable products for consumers, which is a major obstacle to their development. How will the smart home protocol develop in the future? The smart home market will continue to grow. So far, we have not seen enough signs that a certain standard or technology will dominate the world in the future. But we have a responsibility to help consumers understand the products they bring home and the role of each technology in practical application. For example, Wi Fi will become an integral part of the connection of all smart home products, especially if users want to be able to remotely access their devices outside the home. Bluetooth will play a key role in the smart lock market, so that consumers can easily open the door when they walk to the front door with a smart phone. Z-Wave is still a prominent technology in the security system. It connects lights, temperature controllers, door locks, sensors and other peripheral devices to make the family truly intelligent. At present, the commonly used network protocols include WiFi, Bluetooth, ZigBee and Z-Wave, but they all have shortcomings, such as:WiFi has high power consumption and is suitable for transmitting a large amount of data;Bluetooth power consumption is relatively low, but there is still a chaotic situation in which Bluetooth 2.0 and Bluetooth 4.0 coexist, and IPv6 is not supported;ZigBee technology is complex and the R & D cost is high;Z-Wave is led by zensys, a Danish company, and is not as strong as ZigBee Alliance for the time being. All wireless protocols have their advantages and disadvantages, but the most important selection factors are still interoperability and security, as well as more product choices. It depends on all of us, including everyone in the smart home ecosystem such as standards organizations, manufacturers, retailers and developers, to jointly promote and realize the interconnected smart home life.

What Will the History Books Say Is the Reason the US Invaded Iraq?
Oil & Revenge. History will show that the White House manipulated the facts & intelligents to convince the Senate & Congress to vote to go to War. At the end of his term in office, History will show that he lost the support of the American People, The House & Senate, Most of the Generals who were running the war & the troops in Iraq. His isolation will exceed Richard Nixon in his last days.1. What do you wish history books included? Thanks for your question. Memories make us. History tells us how we got here, or should do so. Often, inconvenient truths are left out.Are we in possession of a single word of truth concerning the lives of the great men who have played preponderating parts in the history of humanity-men such as Hercules, Buddha, or Mahomet? In all probability we are not. Gustave Le Bon, The Crowd,If history is the story of psychopathic lunacy and babbling fools, so be it. We need to know our brain diseases. ...it is the norm for psychopaths to become leaders and for the worst of them to remain in power for many years. That, of course, was the historic norm. Psychopathic families seized power and by utterly ruthless behaviour kept it. One cannot read any history without recognizing the truth of that fact. David Horrobin, The Madness of Adam and Eve, (London: Corgi, 2002).Humankind, T.S. Eliot reminds us, cannot bear too much reality. So we would rather cover up the dancing madness that is our history. Image: Time to Dance, a Time to DieSo while we close in on two years of phantom 'Russkies dun it' idiocy to cover for Hillary Clinton losing a rigged election- how many of us have read this book? We say Opium War accusingly while ignoring the British need for tea, which sparked it. History should include an archaeology of imagination, for it was those who designed dreams and materialized them who made our world. History should be written well, without blinkers, and with a hunger for truth.History liberates because it refines our understanding of men, of ideas, and of events. J. Bronowski and Bruce Mazlish, Introduction to The Western Intellectual Tradition, (New York: Dorset Press, 1986).What do you wish history books included?2. US History Books!!!!!!!!! 10pts fba!?Lies My Teacher Told Me My US History teacher recommended it to us when I was in high school. I recently bought it, its great.3. how can history books be found as credible but not the bible? As Christians we can often times use ancient history to support items and happenings in the Bible. When our opponents are all strung out refuting the bible as a fairy tale; they should compare it to other accounts of history. For example: Jesus tomb is available for viewing; Noah's arc has been sited (what is left of it); Rivers, seas and other bodies of water in the bible are still there today and still have the same name; Some mountain still have the same names as in Biblical times; and so on. The "fairy tale" becomes an active piece of reality if you look close enough.4. how do we know history books are correct? There is no real way to know if the history books are correct. Unfortunately history is written by the winner and so is often one-sided. The best historical accounts are those that include many varied perspectives, but this is often not possible. It is always important to be critical of documents even those that are historical. All events are recorded by people which means that we are experiencing the event through the lens of their life. There is no such thing as an unbiased history.5. Are liberals mad we don't believe their history books w/history they changed, like Eddie Haskell changed that report card with an eraser? What exactly have liberals changed? I know for a fact conservatives tried to edit moses in as a founding father6. Would another Super Bowl win see Aaron Rodgers pass Brett Favre in the Packers history books?Well, its hard to judge now. Considering favre's blowout after GB, we have a mostly negative view of him. Rodgers just won a SB and we think he's the man. Give it 10 years, then we can talk. Rodgers is not the only catalyst in GB dominence. He is surrounded by superb receivers and a stellar defense.

Starting in 1850, the Census records listed all family members instead of only listing males. Census records are available up to 1930. You can also write to the County Courthouses in the counties where your family lived to order copies of birth certificates, marriage licenses, wills, and deeds. In addition to the databases and microfilms already mentioned, your library should have newspaper archives on microfilm or microfische (of local newspapers if you are lucky), and perhaps special historical collections will have vertical files of clipping from the 19th and 20th-century.— — — — — —How can I find out about my family history?try the internet...it helps! or ask your relitives!— — — — — —Atheists...I did my family history thing..guess what...?Its a little funny people so dont get all psychotic hyper religous, take it serious and make your selves look retarded. Especially in the North Korea. Their dictation of Government operation is totally wrong and have no ear to listen to their citizens. Many farmers family members are starving to death and the leader and the government is fat as ball. It is hard to believe such ruthless selfish human being still exists in this 21st century. Most every country people are much more educated today and have better knowledge about the world and much more humanity is emphasized today while the Kim Jong is still living in the past. It is unfortunate but all I can do is to pray for the innocent North Koreans to survive. There are different types of people in every country. For example, in England, for people who's family has been there as long as they can trace, their ancestors can be Celtic, Roman, Anglo-Saxon, Norman, Viking descent. There are different people in every country, so contrary to popular belief, you can not tell what nationality someone is by appearance. I suggest making an account on ancestry.com and put in as much info as you can about your biological family. It is private, so you can enter whatever you want. You may be able to sue the hints they proved to trace your ancestors back to a different country, which may answer your question.

They met later in her career, while he was head of the economics department at Western Reserve University (now Case Western Reserve University). .— — — — — —History of education in AngolaThe history of education in Angola refers to the formal education in Angola during the different periods of Portuguese presence and colonial occupation as well as during the postcolonial phases (1975-1991 and 1992 until today)— — — — — —History of education in KuwaitKuwait is a small country situated in the Persian Gulf. It is one of the high-income countries with a GDP per capita of above $24,000. Oil exports account for nearly half of Kuwait's national income and about 80% of government revenues. Between 1975 and 1985, the proportion of all working nationals employed in the public sector, including oil, rose from 76 percent to 92 percent. The government of Kuwait is now looking for alternative ways to stimulate employment and the generation of income. With this in mind, it is keen to diversify and improve the skills of its labor force; hence the high priority given to the reform of education at all levels. At the beginning of the 20th century, there was no formal educational system in place in Kuwait at all. There were a few Quranic schools, known as Al-Katatib, funded by the wealthy private citizens of Kuwait, that taught reading, writing and basic arithmetic. In 1911, the Al Mubarakiyya School was established as one of Kuwait's modern educational institutions. It was founded by merchants to train their clerks in commerce, arithmetic and letter-writing skills. In 1921, the Al-Ahmedia school was established, which offered English courses, and soon thereafter, an all-girls school was founded that provided education in Arabic, home economics and Islamic Studies. The government became involved in providing formal education in 1936, and by 1945 there were 17 schools in Kuwait. With the increase in oil production and hence state revenues after World War II, the government began investing huge sums of money into social services, including education. By 1960, there were 45,000 students enrolled in Kuwait's educational system, including 18,000 girls. In 1965, following the constitution that made education a fundamental right of a citizen, education was made compulsory for children aged between 6 and 14. Since the early 21st century, the Ministry of Education has sought to prepare a general, long-term education strategy, focusing on educational teaching for the years up to 2025. This effort aims to align teaching methodologies with the current needs of an increasingly globalised world. The World Bank is conducting an analytical study to explore the various policy options needed to implement this new strategy. A National Conference for the Development of Education was held in Kuwait in February 2008, to discuss this national strategy further. Other multilateral organizations, such as the OECD, are working towards improving the business environment in Kuwait and providing training for women to promote female entrepreneurship within the country.
Were You Taught Much About Black History in School?
Were You Taught Much About Black History in School?
Were you taught much about black history in school?I was taught about black history by Rastafarians in Warrika hills, the rasta men and women were then considered as Black-heart people who smoke weed and drink blood, far, far, faaarrr away from the truth. It was and is the rastafarians who stir up the black consciousness, in Jamaican, teaching repatriation, black royalty, self-reliance and healthy eating. Rasta embraces Africa the mother land where life started, religiously. I was taught to address the female as queens and princesses and that I was a princes and should act accordingly I was suspended from numerous history, spanish and religious classes, back in high school because I dare to ask about my history, my language and my beliefs. One morning in school devotion, because I was not paying much attention( as it was my history teacher who was conducting the devotion) she called me up to sing a gospel song (wrong move) I sang with passion, Bob Marley's, Old pirates yes they rob I sold I to the merchant ships,(Redemption song) well the whole school joined in, I got a thunderous applause we got off the first verse before I was shoved from the podium and given a dust bin to keep the corridors clean. Well it was too late I was already a rebel and a hero. I was never asked publicly to do anything in that school again. Still is a black rebel.— — — — — —Why is OK to have a Black History Month but no....?Just create the goddamn history month of your ethnicity and stop asking this question. Seriously nobody is going to care. Just create it. I know there are other ehnic groups that struggled(the Irish anyone), so why can not they create one? They can. The only person stoping them is them. If you created Irish, German, Polish, Italian, other european ethnic groups history months, you would not need a white hisotry month, b/c those mentioned ethnic groups are white ethnic groups, therefore you would have several white history months. Blacks have to use the term "black" hisotry month for their history, b/c unlike whites, most blacks DO NOT KNOW the exact place of origin in Africa that their ancestors came from. So we have to compete w/ an entire damn continent. I hope that answered your question. P.S. I have no respect for Jesse Jackson after how he dogged Barack Obama. Al Sharpton gets on my damn nerves. OH Also, Latinos, have an awarness day or month(not sure which one), so that includes Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Central Americans, etc, etc, etc.— — — — — —Since this is Black History month, should America stifle all mention of Black History for the rest of the yearI do not think being a minority makes you noble, victimized or privileged over others, especially those others more qualified for the job. I do not care if you do call me a racist, homophobe, or misogynist. I do not owe you DoDo, and will not be intimidated by you! Get an education, get qualified for a job and start being productive. I've worked hard all my life for what I have and damn sure am not giving it up to any welfare freeloaders. I will call you human and treat you with respect until your actions prove you otherwise. I treat all humans this way no matter what race they happen to be, and expect the same in return. If you've got a job, support your family, and pay taxes, you are a contributing member of our society. If not, you are a detriment to that society, a total waste to your species, and the scum of the Earth. Do not expect me to treat scum as human. If the shoe fits, wear it, It's your problem, not mine. Deal with it! And Most Of All, I am Proud To Be White!!! How many are actually paying attention to this? There are African Americans, Mexican Americans, Asian Americans, Arab Americans, Native Americans, etc. And then there are just Americans. You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction. You Call me "White boy," "Cracker," "Honkey," "Whitey," "Caveman" .. And that's OK. But when I call you, ******, Kike, Towel head, Sand-******, Camel Jockey, Beaner, ****, or Chink ... You call me a racist. You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you, So why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live? You have the United ***** College Fund. You have Martin Luther King Day. You have Black History Month. You have Cesar Chavez Day. You Have Yom Hashoah You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi You have the NAACP. You have BET. If we had WET (White Entertainment Television) .. We would be racists. If we had a White Pride Day .. You would call us racists. If we had White History Month . We would be racists. If we had any organization for only whites to "advance" OUR lives .. We would be racists. We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce. Wonder who pays for that? If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships ... You know we would be racists. There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US , yet if there were "White colleges" .... THAT would be a racist college. In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching For your race an rights. If we marched for our race and rights, You would call us racists. You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you are Not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride .. You call us racists. You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us. But, when a white police officer Shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug-dealer running From the law and posing a threat to society .. You call him a racist. I am proud. But, you call me a racist. Why is it that only whites can be racists? There is nothing improper about this e-mail. Let's see which of you are proud enough to send it on.
Where Was Marijuana First Discovered?
Where Was Marijuana First Discovered?
Where was marijuana first discovered?probably when fire was discovered. it's been around since recorded history— — — — — —When did your country first appear in recorded history? From the Great Karnak Inscription, in the reign of Pharaoh Merneptah, 1213-1203 BC :... the third season, saying: 'The wretched, fallen chief of Libya, Meryre, son of Ded, has fallen upon the country of Tehenu with his bowmen--Sherden, Shekelesh, Ekwesh, Lukka, Teresh ...If, as many (not all, by any means) scholars do, you take the Sherden and Shekelesh to have originated from Sicily and Sardinia, the first account of people from Italy dates back to the late Bronze Age.Otherwise, the oldest writing in Italy are - unfortunately, untranslatable - Etruscan inscriptions dating from about 700 BC. That's also (approximately) the period when Greek and Punic settlement began, bringing in the alphabet. So another acceptable answer is the eighth century BC.The oldest surviving written mention of the peninsula (in fragments and quotations) is actually, as far as I am aware, Antiochus of Syracuse, writing around 450 BC about Greek colonies in Sicily and the peninsula.— — — — — —How could a humanist civilization favor the selfless?Yeah, good question. What you are asking is essentially, "How could we fundamentally change human nature?"Since the beginning of recorded history, people have wanted basically the same things: basic needs like food and drink and protection from the weather, sex, love, amusement, prestige, power. In almost every society in recorded history money is a way to obtain many of these things.G. K. Chesterton once wrote (could not find the exact quote with a brief search, but this is the gist of it) that the problem he has with many utopian schemes is that they assume that all the hard problems are solved, and then discuss at great length how they will solve the remaining easy problems. For example, he said, they will assume that in their utopian society no one will want more than his fair share, and then they will discuss whether is fair share should be delivered by balloon or automobile.I think the only real solution to the problem that the world has ever seen is the solution that you are ruling out: religion. People can be and have been convinced that they have a responsibility to God or the gods to be considerate of their fellow humans. Without a demand for morality coming from such a higher source, why should anyone be anything but selfish?Perhaps you could create a society where doing good for others has rewards. Capitalism has been successful mostly because it rewards people for producing products and services that benefit others. The way to get rich in a capitalist system is to produce something that other people want. But it only works to the extent that other people can afford to pay for it. Perhaps a sufficiently clever person could invent a social or economic structure where you could derive some clear benefit by helping the poor. But no one has succeeded in doing that.Oh, it's easy enough to say, Why can not we create a society where people get praise and honor for helping the poor, and where people are willing to sacrifice material things in exchange for this praise and honor? The reason we can not is because that's just not how real human beings work. You might as well ask, Why can not we create a society where people enjoy being poor and starving to death? That's probably easier to achieve— — — — — —What is the first piece of recorded history EVER?The oldest I can think of would be the times of the Pharaohs, but it may have been even earlier when you add in early mans cave drawings. Hman— — — — — —What year in recorded history was there a month with NO FULL MOON. I think it's February 1800's?There must be quite a few of them, since February has an average of 28.25 days, and the interval between Full Moons is 29.53 days. I would say it happens on average once every 30 years or so.— — — — — —How much of the received recorded history of world must be dismissed for evolution to work?It works just fine without dismissing anything, and did so for many millions of years before recorded history beganWhy do atheists blame religion for the 'wars' of history? You are over-generalizing here. No sensible person, whatever his or her religious beliefs or lack thereof, blames religion for "all" the wars in recorded history. That would be idiotic, since many wars were clearly caused not by religious differences but by naked greed and desire for conquest of territory, resources and wealth, or nationalistic urges, or other non-religious ideological reasons. However, many wars and conflicts in the past clearly DID have religious origins or had religious components. That is still true today: the sectarian differences in Iraq and in Syria have a strong influence on fighting taking place there, and in Pakistan, the Christian population is being targeted. When you say "atheists say religion has caused the wars in the world..can they be more specific" , I would suggest that it is YOU who needs to be more specific.
Take Your 5 in NBA History?
Take Your 5 in NBA History?
Take your 5 in NBA history?Shaq Duncan Pippen Jordan Nash— — — — — —where does John Starks ranks among the biggest chokers in nba history?80's. a great style of the final gamers in NBA historic previous, whether at their height, declining, or upcoming, performed in this decade. The 80's grew to become into, for sure, the era of chook, Magic, Isiah, Moses, Dominique who have been the suited canines at that factor, as properly as proficient gamers like James worth, Kevin McHale, Bernard King, the complicated Micheal Ray Richardson, Adrian Dantley, Alex English, Clyde Drexler, Sydney Moncrief, Mark Aguirre, Tom Chambers, between others. however the 70's greats, e.g. Kareem, Dr. J, George Gervin, David Thompson and Artis Gilmore, have been nevertheless there and competing on the suited point. Then got here the batch that would dominate the ninety's led by potential of Michael Jordan, Hakeem, Barkley, John Stockton, Karl Malone and Patrick Ewing. in brief, this decade observed the fusion of three eras so it only teemed with wonderful expertise— — — — — —top 5 offensive/scorers players in nba history? In no particular order Kobe, Kareem abdul-jabbar, wilt chamberlin, karl malone, and Allen Iverson— — — — — —Who is the SECOND greatest player in NBA history?Wilt is number one and Jordan is number 2. I know you young because if you were old enough to see Wilt you would say Wilt, this guy was the best post up player, strong, can score. Just look at his scoring titles in a season, averaged 40 ppg in a season before, had alot 30ppg season, and also scored 100. I wasnt there when he was alive, base off what i heard about him through Espn classics. I would say Wilt. Every people young like me n you would want to say Jordan because we experience and witness his days. Guys are saying Dwyane Wade and Lebron James they are too young and didnt score 18000 points in their career, why consider them the 2nd best of all time. There are guys who scored 18000 points or more they dont get that spot but for a guy who didnt win a ring(Lebron James and is still 22) and both of them didnt get big scoring milestone or any other big career milestone. Kobe Bryant is btter than both, he has more than 18000 points in his career, he is only 28, won 3 rings, scored 81 points, had twenty 40 points game in a season, had five game straight with 50 points or more, has about like over fifteen 50 points game in his career, wade nor james didnt put up that number in their career so if Kobe dont get the mention wade nor james should be in the category at all. Top 7: Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Karl Malone, Shaq, Kobe. If Lebron James win rings and Wade win more rings without Shaq and both have career milestone both cannot be compared to Jordan or Kobe or nor even crack the top 15 G.O.A.T.— — — — — —The biggest letdowns of the NBA history? The NBA in itself is the biggest let down. Anymore it is 1 step away from being the WWF. It is scripted and you know it is when you watch the Ref's. Some guys get away with everything while others are picked on with ticky tack fouls. The game plan is no small market teams in the finals.— — — — — —Who do you think the best duo in NBA history?Bill Russell and anybody. Actually, Bill Russell and Sam Jones. Jones played 12 seasons, and he and Russell won 10 rings together. Russell also won one the year before Jones joined the team. Jones is a Hall of Famer himself, and is the greatest clutch shooter in NBA history...his only problem was, he played before ESPN dumbed everybody down. The fact that Yao and McGrady are even listed in this question shows how today's NBA is nothing but hype. What have Yao and McGrady accomplished? They lost in the first round in 2005 and did not even make the playoffs in 2006...yeah, great duo they have there... What did Nash and Dirk accomplish together? What have Nash and Amare accomplished? No need to look it up...they've accomplished nothing. Ever hear of a couple of guys named Jerry West and Elgin Baylor? (at least one other answerer did...good job!) Russell and Cousy. Russell and Havlicek Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson Bird and McHale Moses Malone and Dr. J. Bill Walton & Maurice Lucas Willis Reed and Walt Frazier (given earlier...good job!) Cowens and Havlicek Wes Unseld and Elvin Hayes Um, people...six championships is not a record...not even close.

Team historyAutomoblists JelgavaThe car factory club Automoblists played in the lower Latvian leagues in the early 1970s, but in the mid 1970s were renamed Metlists. Metlists JelgavaThe club first appeared in 1977 and in their debut season in the Latvian league finished 7th out of 13 teams. After three less than stellar seasons the club changed owners - it was attached again to the bus factory and renamed to Automoblists Jelgava. Automoblists JelgavaAs Automoblists the Jelgava squad also had it hard - at best it finished seasons in the middle of the table, and between 1983 and 1987 it played in the 1st league. In 1987 Automoblists lost to Zemgale Ilkste for a place in Virslga but as the league was expanded under the name of RAF, Jelgava once again had a club in the top Latvian league. RAF JelgavaIn 1988 and 1989 there were two teams of RAF Jelgava which in 1990 merged into one. One of those played in the lower Soviet leagues, the other - in the Latvian league. In 1988 and 1989 under the management of Viktors esterenko the "local" RAF won the Latvian league, in 1988 as a golden double it also won the Latvian Cup. Meanwhile, the "international" RAF were not doing that well - although they had in its squad several talented young players including Vladimirs Babievs, Dzintars Sprois, Igors Troickis and Aleksandrs Stradi, its results were very disappointing. In 1989 esterenko took over the unified RAF team in the Soviet league and in the Baltic league. In 1990 and 1991 the team played better, but then the Soviet Union collapsed and RAF joined the Latvian Virslga. In the early 1990s RAF was one of the strongest teams in Virslga, three times finishing second and once third (in 1992 they finished runners up to Skonto Rga in an additional game after finishing the season on equal points). However, when the plant ran into financial difficulties, the team received new sponsorship from the University of Latvia in 1996 and, as a result, changed their name and relocated to Riga, and played in the Latvian University Stadium. RAF RgaAs RAF Rga the club only played one season, finishing 5th in the Latvian league, however it won the 1996 Latvian Cup. But after the season the club changed its name again - this time to Universitte Rga. Universitte RgaThe only season under the name of Universitte did not bring much success to the club - 6th place in the league with the club being disbanded after the season. RAF Jelgava (again)A team under the name RAF Jelgava appeared again in 2001 in the 1. lga. After the 2003 season the club merged with another Jelgava club - FK Viola Jelgava forming FK Jelgava.— — — — — —Fictional team historyLooking to make money, Farley Fleeter transformed his gang into a group of supervillains. The gang donned wigs, face paint, and multicolored costumes and started robbing banks. This brought them to the attention of Blue Beetle. During the fight, the Madmen gained control of Beetle's gun but could not figure out how to use it. The public did not know what powers the gun possessed; the Madmen took advantage of this to enhance their crimes. Blue Beetle eventually regained his gun (only containing a strobe light) and apprehended the Madmen. After serving their sentences, the Madmen retired until they were paid to attack Kord Industries by Doctor Alchemy. Once again they were jailed. The Madmen became a more persistent annoyance to Blue Beetle. They returned to face him time and again but were defeated after each attempt. Fleeter, however, was not discouraged. Taking a job at Georgetown University to steal drugs, he was involved in an accident that gave him the power to mentally control anyone he touched. He used this power to create an army of Madmen, but was defeated in a confrontation with Hawk and Dove and sent to Belle Reve prison. Sometime later, Fleeter was incarcerated at Arkham Asylum and was a victim of the Joker's venom. He caused problems in Gotham City until he was captured by the Beetle and Robin. During the Infinite Crisis, the Madmen were invited to join Alexander Luthor, Jr.'s Secret Society of Super Villains. Their first assignment was to attack Blue Beetle. Though they failed, their actions led to his death at the hands of Maxwell Lord. Next, they were given guard duty and were attacked by the Secret Six. During the Battle of Metropolis the Madmen were gunned down by Wild Dog, Crimson Avenger, and Vigilante. One Year Later, some of the Madmen apparently survived the battle. They attacked Wonder Woman and Manhunter after Everyman appeared disguised as Blue Beetle. After attacking the trio, the Madmen dispersed. They later appeared as part of a group of villains attempting to defeat the new Blue Beetle, Jaime Reyes. After suffering a blast from one of Jaime's weapons, the group beat a hasty retreat.
