Sprinkle them around the baseboards and under appliances. Eliminate their sources of food and water. Clean the kitchen thoroughly after every meal. Take the trash out each night. Dry the sinks before retiring for the evening. Eliminate or frequently disrupt any potential nesting locations. (Behind pictures, amongst dirty laundry, close to a refrigerator's compressor or condensor, etc...) Check your house for cracks. (Especially in the kitchen.) Seal cracks with a siliconized caulk. The best way is it Reduce, reuse, and recycle. however if you are not that keen into being green. Turn off appliances which you do not use. Plus unplug anything you have on standby. You think that you are saving energy but you still need energy to keep the appliance running. Do not buy a desktop because they suck up juice but a laptop because you can unplug it, and recharge it when needed. There is a saying in the ecological aspect of architecture, your consumption of energy is directly related to how many extensions cords you have. If you limit yourself, you save energy and reduce your consumption rate. however if you wish to save energy in the long run... There is a big flaw in the way we think. Take for example the incandescent light bulb and the modern day flourescent light which has a longer life and lower energy consumption. And land space usage for precedent. The less efficient light bulb, the less we buy. The more efficient light, the more we buy. So in short we buy more lights and that energy comes to a similar result to having incandescent light bulbs. For land, less space equals the less opportunity for lavish lifestyles occuring. The bigger the land space, the opportunity to have parties, plasma tv's and so on increases. It's our lifestyle that needs to reduced so that it does not compromise the human condition and demand for electricity. who do you think consumes a lot of energy? a poor african starving from malnutrition or an obese person. the poor african has the lowest consumption of energy because he has a limited lifestyle

In The Sims, objects *can* be in subfolders, so I organize them by category. For instance, I have the following folders for appliances: Objects/Appliances/Large Objects/Appliances/Other Objects/Appliances/Refrigerators Objects/Appliances/Small Objects/Appliances/Stoves I use the same price for like objects so they are together in buy mode when away from home (especially useful for lighting fixtures, and seating). For instance, table lamps are all 10, floor lamps are all 20, and so on. .
