The Amazon Kindle paper white is your best bet. It only costs about $80, a little more than 5000r. It has actual ink in it so they are very fragile. I recommend getting a case for it because mine broke easily luckily I had a warranty for it. If you go onto Amazon you might be able to find cheaper ones. You can really only read books on one though there are a few simple games. Compared to the Kindle Fire which is a tablet they are much simpler and it looks like you are actually reading a book. Outside there's no glare on a paper white. On the Fire it's so hard to see when you are in sunlight. There are many e-readers but Kindle has proved to be far superior than most. They are input devices like a mouse or keyboard - they cannot do any of those things without the PC and software to go with it, so you would actually need a tablet PC if you wanted to do those things. Or a really damn good PDA. If you mean to get him a tablet so he can connect it to a laptop or something... You might try looking at the Wacom Bamboo tablets. There are also other cheaper brands but I only know Wacom since I use it. However, unless he is a digital artist, tablets are kinda useless (much faster to type notes on a keyboard in a text editor like Notepad than writing it with a tablet).
