Yes/No No the lack of screws just means that it is not secured down screws in vga ports do not carry a signal or serve a purpose other than to hold the cable on. Usually the laptop VGA port is for output only as in you dock your laptop and display on a larger screen. If this is the case you can not use it for your xbox. There are expansion cards for laptops that you could use to bring video into a laptop like tv tuner cards or you could just buy a cheap lcd monitor.

Without a tuner, you will get nothing, period. Any coaxial connection should go to a tuner so, if the set has one at all, it's not connected to anything. So, your options are: 1. Purchase an ATSC digital Tuner. This would allow you to watch Over The Air digital signals with an antenna and view them in actual HD when available. 2. Use a DTV converter box. Make sure you get one with video outputs to feed video to your display. Note that this will be analog video so it wo not look really good - but you can do it. 3. Use something with a digital tuner like a DVD recorder as a tuner for your set. 4. Subscribe to cable or satellite and their box to supply video to your display. I hope this helps. 3. My T.V. won't turn on?

There's a lot of levels to "TV wo not turn on"..... First, does the power light turn on? Then the standby power circuit is working.... 2nd, do you hear any relays click? Then the micro is initiating the "power on" command... 3rd, do you hear the TV set crackle with high voltage? Then the main power supply and the high voltage circuits are starting up....but they may shut down immediately due to excessive voltage....that means your regulator or high voltage shutdown circuit is bad.... If it's the regulator, you can continue to turn on the TV even when it immediately shuts down.... If it's the high voltage shutdown circuit, you can only turn it on once....then you have to unplug the TV for one minute to get it to turn on one more time... Now, if it stays on, you should be able to see the channel numbers or the volume control bar or the menu....if that's what you see then the video circuit may be bad, or you have the TV set to Video 1 or 2 or 3 and not the tuner....Just press the INPUT or TV/Video button until you see a picture or snow...then select a known channel. In most cases, if you get to the point where you do not have a picture, it's time to have it looked at by a qualified TV Tech....

Unlike a film camera, a video camera does not have a mechanical shutter which permits light to strike the film for only a brief instant. Instead, the light is admitted through the lens to the image sensing device on a continual basis. The frame rate in a video camera refers to the rate at which each completely scanned image (frame) in the video sequence is transferred throughout the system. This is determined by the video standard(s) (PAL, NTSC, SECAM, etc) for which the camera is designed to operate. In the PAL TV system, which is common in many European countries, this frame rate is standarized at 25 FPS (Frames Per Second). In the NTSC TV system, which is used in North America and Japan, it is approximately 29.97 FPS. However, both PAL and NTSC are interlaced systems, which means that each frame of video is assembled from two successive "fields" of video. Each field contains one half of the scan lines. One contains the odd numbered lines (1,3,5,7, etc) and the other the even numbered (2,4,6,8, etc). When these two fields are displayed together, one entire frame is complete and ready to be processed elsewhere. Because of interlacing, the image is actually sampled all over the viewing area twice for each frame. So the system actually behaves more like it is operating at double the actual frame rate. The default "shutter speed" of your NTSC video camera is marked as 60 FPS, which represents a rounded off version of 2 X 29.97FPS. At this standard rate, each field of video has just completed the scanning process when the time for the next field to begin scanning comes due. At the 1/60 second rate scanning will repeat in a continuous and smooth process. However, it is possible to retrieve the image data from a solid-state image sensor (CCD, CMOS) in much less time than 1/60 second. So, the adjustable "shutter" setting on your video camera actually describes the speed at which each FIELD of data is scanned from the image sensor into the system. It is an input rate rather than an output rate. The system still has to wait the proper time between scans to send out each frame (pair of fields) at the standard rate before it starts scanning the next frame. It is a "hurry-up and wait" process. The advantage of scanning the image sensor at a higher rate is the same as that of faster shutter speeds in film cameras. It allows for less visible blurring of moving objects. However, the limitations are the same as well. At higher shutter speeds the sensitivity of the camera will decrease as the image sensor has less time to form an image from the available light.
