Contemporary mainland China

Since the loosening of restrictions on religion after the 1970s, Christianity has grown significantly within the People's Republic. The Protestant Three-Self Patriotic Movement and China Christian Council have affiliations with government and follow the regulations imposed upon them. Three-Self Patriotic Movement by 2005 claimed to have 10-15 million worshippers, while the total number of Protestants, including unofficial house churches is calculated to be of 30 million members. SuppressionBeginning in 2013 the government began a campaign of suppression targeting large Protestant and Catholic churches with steeples and crosses. 2018 was marked by demolition of an Evangelical church boasting 50,000 members in Linfen, Shanxi. Protestant worship in the presentThe Chinese Union Version of the Bible, the Chinese New Hymnal, the Lord's Prayer as it is written in the Chinese Union Version and the Apostles' Creed are usually used by most Protestant worshipers in present-day China. The hymnal Canaan Hymns is one of the most successful underground Christian publications in China. In addition to house churches, it is used in Three-Self Patriotic Movement churches. Bible in ChinaStarting in the early 19th century, many translation of the Bible into Chinese were made by Protestants, Catholics and Orthodox Christians. An early translation was made by British missionary and linguist Robert Morrison. More than 300 million copies of the Bible in Chinese have been published and disseminated since 1823 with active participation of the Protestant missionaries from 1807 to 1953. Unregistered churches and cultsOutside of the state-sanctioned Three-Self Church (), whose doctrines are in line with mainline Protestantism and have pro-government stances, what is intended as "Protestantism" (Jdjio xnjio) in China. There are various dissident churches outside of the Three-Self Church. They primarily operate in the form of the so-called "family churches" (), "underground churches" () or "underground heavens" (), small worship groups in family homes. These have generally been called "house churches" by Western Christian media. Family church networks are especially present in the provinces of Zhejiang and Henan. They have missionaries in other provinces and even abroad to neighboring states, such as Taiwan. There also includes a variety of cults based on the Bible teachings, such as Eastern Lightning, Mentuhui, Beili Wang, The Shouters, the Total Scope Church, the Fangcheng Fellowship, the China Gospel Fellowship and the Meeting Hall.

As a local Hong Kong person, what can I do to make myself and my peers happy in Hong Kong under the influence of the Chinese government, as well as the influence of those from mainland China?

I think Joseph Wong has already analysed your issues very clear, so I just want to put some supplyments.1.I am currently a master student in the law school of HKU, and all my classmates of my programme are from mainland. You know why? Because the programme aims at people from mainland! However, the size of the programme shrinks from 50 last year to 30 this year, because smartest Chinese students have many other options in other top universities nowadays. The only thing which attracts us to come to HK is the fees are cheaper than UK and US, but sadly, this attraction has been eroding because people in mainland are getting rich. Moreover, it is childish and illogical to said that mainlanders took education opportunities from local students. International students would also steal education opportunities from local students, but why you do not blame them? Actually, all universities in HK said they are international instituions and welcome people from all over the world. You really think they care about students from where, although they actually give priorities to local students.Btw, local students have subsidies for their tertiary education from the HK government and their tuition fees are much cheaper than ours ,and they are also easier to apply student halls.2. The gold stores problem is also funny, since we do not even think that is a problem. Business people are the most sensitive animals to follow money. They open gold stores becasue there are huge demards from mainlanders and they can make lots of profits. It makes you feel sad when hongkongers are making money? And those demards are the most desirable things authorities around the world want nowadays, because obviously, it can bring lots of employments. Again, you do not think that makes sense?3.Please do not mix the Chinese government and mainlanders, because mainlanders often disprove their government, too. Look at the high-rising housing price, the unsafe food security and the pollution. You really think we all are satisfied with the governance of the authorities? We know very clearly the drawbacks of the communist government. We desire democracy, freedom of speech and other civil rights, which sadly, the authority refuses to give, though it tries to improve. That's why many middle-class families in mainland try to immigrate to other countries in recent years. However, we still love our country (when we mainlanders mention our country, it never mean the communist government) and want it become better and stronger, because that is our motherland.4. Another ironic fact is many families in HK actually have ties in mainland. Many mainlanders come to HK for many many years and become hongkongers. You can distinguish them, or it makes sense to distinguish them? You definitely would not think you are a Chinese, but unfortunately, many hongkongers may have another opinions.5. The housing price in HK is very unusual, but that's because mainlanders buy too much flats? Perhaps. But you really think that situation will be different if HK is still a colony of Britain? I do not think so. You will find that the housing price in HK is very high for most of the time in HK's history, but when the economic environment was good, people tend to think optimistically and ignore this issue. Moreover, people from other countries can also buy flats in HK, why do not you blame them? Actually, those who can afford to buy decent flats in HK normally are foreigners. Why they are allow to buy flats in HK, because HK is an open and international city. No matter whether you like it or not, HK belongs to the world and not just hongkonger to some extent. And I do not think this position would be different if HK is still under UK's governance. Probably, it would may HK more universal and mainlanders are welcome to buy flats in HK, because as you can see, mainlanders have almost bought half of the companies of UK and UK government does not think that is unusual. Another reason of high-rising housing price is the rate ratio of residential places and the forest is unusual, comparing other big cities in the world and bearing in mind the population and development in HK, although I really love the forest in HK. However, every time when the local government plan to increase more lands, many people will begin to protest and the poor local government has to stop. Unfortunately, the housing price would not go down dramatically, if the supply of land does not increase. Again, you think that is the Chinese government's fault?

What Are Some Ways to Keep My Hair Really Healthy?
Use professional shampoo & conditioner. I know it may seem like a rip-off, however all the shampoos like Pantene, Garnier, etc. have a high alcohol content....since the normal pH of your hair is 4.5-5.5, things containing high amounts of alcohol throw your hair all out of whack and cause breakage, split-ends, fly-aways, etc. The reason these shampoos make your hair feel soft is because they contain high amounts of humectants, which are just a cover for how damaging they really are! Another tip is ALWAYS use a thermal protector while applying heat. Heat appliances cause tons of damage to your hair. Usually this is a cream/clear gel you apply before blow drying. Never use a flat iron on hair that is not completely dry!1. Split End Help. ( 10 Points) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?For sure you should get a trim and maybe even cut your hair as short as you are comfortable doing it. You should for no reason straighten or dye your hair. Look for some Garnier Fructis or Pantene shampoos and conditioner for curly hair so that it extra moisturizes it and helps the split ends repair themselves. I say from experience that ppl with curly hair have really bad split ends, which is why we have special stuff in our hair products. The split ends wont magically go away in like a month or a few weeks, but you will see improvement after a while. Oh, and for sure DO NOT PICK THEM OFF!! It will just make it worse. Every two months until your hair is healthy get a trim. just maybe half an inch or an inch will be just fine. Eventually your hair will go back to normal. Good luck with that!.2. Whats the best shampoo conditioner for cheap?clever or V05 are solid inexpensive ($a million) shampoos, yet whilst it is composed of conditioner i could bypass Tresemme ($6) it does an somewhat solid interest. i take advantage of salon shampoo because of the fact i am form of a hair snob, yet I nonetheless use the cheap conditioner. Pantene is undesirable on your hair (too plenty protein and reasons alot of greater build up on the hair) so i does not bypass there. desire this permits! My hair is oily, superb, and colour-taken care of if that helps you any!3. How can I get my curly hair to be nice like Taylor Swift?Haha i have the same hair long and curly..but not pretty curly! im completely obsessed with taylor and her hair so i did so playing with it and what you really NEED to get is the conair hot sticks!! they are these little flexible curlers and they are not very expensive and i would look like a frizz ball without them!! you can like get them at walmart. anyways what i do when iwear my hair curly is like i get up and get in the shower and wash it and condition it and this may sound weird but dont use a whole lot of conditioner just enough to get it done cause it will help your hair hold the curl the just get out and towel dry your hair till it is just damp and then put a curling mouse in it and frizz serum then finish blow drying it straight! and you know have the curlers on like when your gettin in the shower and then just make sure the little light is on meaning that they are hot enough and then seperate your hair into pretty small peices (if you have really thick hair then you might need to buy two sets cause they only have 14 in them and you use small sections) and then start from the botom of your hair and role it through your hair and pin it together youll see the instructions on how to pin them together and make sure you wrap it all the way to the top of your head and leave them for like 15 or 20 minutes while your finishin gettin ready and then use like a light hairspray about 5 minutes before you take them out then your done. i know this thing was really long but its not that hard lol!!!! hope i helped good luck!!!!!!!!
