DAS is direct attached storage, and its full English name is direct attached storage. Chinese translation is "Direct Attached Storage". As the name suggests, in this way, the storage device is directly connected to the server through a cable (usually SCSI interface cable). I / O (input / output) requests are sent directly to the storage device. Das, also known as SAS (server attached storage). It depends on the server, which is a stack of hardware without any storage operating system. Applicable environment of Das 1) servers are geographically dispersed, and it is very difficult to interconnect them through San (storage area network) or NAS (network direct storage) (a typical example is the branch of a store or bank); 2) when the storage system must be directly connected to the application server (such as Microsoft cluster server or the "original partition" used by some databases); 3) applications including many database applications and application servers need to be directly connected to the memory, and groupware applications and some mail services are also included. The typical Das structure is shown in the figure. For the environment with multiple servers or PCs, the initial cost of using Das may be relatively low. However, under this connection mode, each PC or server has its own storage disk, so it is difficult to reallocate the capacity; For the storage system management in the whole environment, the work is cumbersome and repetitive, and there is no centralized management solution.
