The First Laptop with Intel's Upcoming 11th Generation Processor

Acer has a new version of its swift 5 laptop. It seems to be the first laptop to use Intel's upcoming 11th generation processor. The chip uses the chip manufacturer's new integrated Xe graphics.

Although Acer did not provide too many details, the transformation from the current gen11 integrated graphics card in Intel's 10th generation ice lake chip to Xe is expected to be a great challenge: at CES in 2020, Intel promised that the Xe architecture will provide double the performance of graphics card compared with gen11 graphics card. The Xe graphics architecture also supports Intel's planned discrete GPUs. For those who prefer a little more power, swift 5 will also provide an optional independent NVIDIA geforce mx350 GPU.

However, the new swift 5 is not only interesting for its new processor: Acer has further reduced the frame to provide a 90% screen to body ratio (higher than 86.4% screen to body ratio). Old model), although the panel is still a 14 inch FHD display.

The port options are similar: HDMI, two usb-a ports, a usb-c thunderbolt port and a headphone jack.

Acer said that the new swift 5 will be launched in October this year, starting at $999.99, although the price will depend on your exact specification (Acer has not fully announced the details).
